About our Guest Judges:

Craig Bartlett:  Creator and Executive Producer, Hey Arnold! - Craig Bartlett is the creator and executive producer behind the beloved Nickelodeon series Hey Arnold!. He’s currently creating an original TV movie, Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie, for the network featuring a storyline that picks up from where the original series ended in 2004. Bartlett was born in Seattle and grew up in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from Evergreen State College in Olympia in 1981, Bartlett went to work as an animator at the Oscar, Emmy and Clio award-winning Will Vinton Studios in Portland, Oregon. In 1987, Bartlett moved to Los Angeles to direct the claymation Penny cartoons for Pee-wee's Playhouse on CBS. Bartlett is perhaps best known as the creator of the television and book series Hey Arnold! for Nickelodeon. The series played in 80 countries worldwide and was in production from 1995 to 2002, completing over 100 half-hours and culminating in the June 2002 film, Hey Arnold! The Movie. In 2008, Bartlett created his second television and book series Dinosaur Train for PBS. The series plays in over 100 countries worldwide and is produced by the Jim Henson Company. Bartlett recently delivered season 4, which takes the series to 89 half-hours to date. In 2014, Bartlett created his third series, Ready Jet Go!, which is produced by Wind Dancer Films, also for PBS. The 40 half-hour episode series premiered on President’s Day 2016 and is in production for season 2.

Katherine Bloomfield: Katherine is a designer for Nickelodeon Consumer Products.  She has over 15 years of experience in the fashion industry and has been with the Nickelodeon family for two years.  Katherine has a love for all things creative and unique!

Joey Ramirez:  Joey is an apparel buyer for BoxLunch. He considers himself a “Gerald,” but is probably more of a “Eugene.” He learned to drive stick shift on a tractor and competed in many Excel competitions, so basically the world was his oyster coming out of prestigious Arizona State University, otherwise known as “The Harvard of Central Arizona.” He enjoys playing basketball and writing biographies about himself in the 3rd person. – Joey Ramirez

How To Enter

DOs & DON'Ts

 DO:

  • Make something original. Research to make sure your idea isn't already out there.
  • Create your own art! Get inspiration from Hey Arnold!
  • Use logos or icons that can be found in the show.
  • Keep in mind the points of Arnold’s hair. There should be 5 points of hair on the right side of his head, and 4 points on the left side.
  • Ensure that Gerald’s number 33 on his shirt is legible.
  • Have fun and be creative!

DON’T:

  • Don't flop character art.
  • Don't submit similar versions of the same design. This will only divide your votes and hurt your chances of winning rather than help it.
  • Don't use any copyrighted, 3rd party or inappropriate materials.  This contest is to submit art designs to be officially licensed.  If it is obscene or mixes 3rd party, or copyrighted materials, it will NOT be selected.  BE TASTEFUL – and bear in mind what someone might actually want to wear on a tee.  Please stay away from polarizing or controversial subject matter.
  • Don't submit images or pictures from the show.  Please create your own art!
  • Don't create new characters. Only characters from within the world of the show are allowed.

To see the Official Rules, please click here.

Q: The submission kit is not downloading.  I need help!
A: Please email [email protected].  We should be able to send you one directly.  Or try clicking here to see if it will directly download for you.

Q: What are the three "Additional Design Images" for?
A: One upload should be JUST the design itself so we can see it clearly. The other images, if you choose to upload them, can be other images of your design. Please remember that each design should be its OWN submission so don't use them to upload multiple designs.

Q: I'm having trouble uploading my images for my submission. What's going on?
A: Please make sure that each image is exactly 1000x1000px JPG, GIF or PNG and each image MUST be under 2MB.

Q: How many designs can I submit?
A: For most contests you can submit up to 10 designs unless otherwise stated.

Q: What file format do you accept?
A: All entries must be in one of the following file formats: GIF/PNG/JPG

Q: If I am a finalist, how large does my high-res art need to be?
A: We recommend that your file is done 15in x 19in at 300 dpi or as close to it as your art program can handle.  If your artwork is too small, it won't work on a t-shirt and it can hurt your chances of winning.

Q: Is it ok for me to promote my designs to people I know to come and help rate my designs?
A: YES!! We encourage every artist submitting to the contest to promote themselves and their designs to friends, family and followers.  Through our experience we have found that more ratings help us determine what the fans really want as winners!  Please feel free to promote yourselves!

Q: It’s been more than 2 business days and I don't see my design on the site.  What’s going on with my design?
A: We review every submission we get before they are made live for viewing and rating.  We will make every attempt to review submissions within 2 business days.  Please note, if you’ve done any of the following we will not accept the design into the contest and you may not be notified.

- Your design has inappropriate materials or elements.
- Your design uses other copyrighted material.  This means you are using other people’s intellectual property in your design you do not have the right to. No mash-ups!
-You've used a design created by someone else as your own.
- It’s not an eligible design for a different reason.  We will contact you directly to notify you of the reason it was not accepted.

Q: I see people cheating.  What should I do?
A: Please email [email protected] detailing what you are suspecting.  The more details you can give the better we can make our decision.
